Description

This session serves to update Customs Agents and Freight Logisticians on the Rwanda Customs Clearance Procedures and ReSW technical support issues resolution. The Customs Procedures codes are the key factors to be considered while declaring goods in customs. The dynamism of customs operations and the change in technology involve updating Customs procedures which may be challenging to Customs clearing agents especially when they do not get informed of changes. Additionally, the Customs systems (RESW) currently used to collect Duties and taxes is a wide system that has several transactions that necessitate continuous refresher courses to avoid mistakes that could impact customs collections and national statistics.

Objectives

The key topics to be covered are: • EAC Customs Process and Procedures; • ReSW system requirements for the clearance of imports and exports of goods.
