This workshop will update the Customs Agents and Freight Logisticians on domestic taxes and dispute resolution by covering the following topics. a) Types of domestic taxes applicable in Kenya. b) Determination of taxable business income and taxable employment income. c) Operations of Value Added Tax for taxable businesses. d) Computation of the tax payable on business income and employment income. e) Computation of the VAT payable on taxable businesses. f) Role of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism in resolving disputes between Taxpayers and KRA.

Objectives

The objective of this CPD workshop is to equip Customs Clearing Agents and Freight Logisticians in Kenya with basic knowledge and skill on domestic taxes to enable them to be compliant taxpayers. Through the workshop, the Agents will also appreciate the role of the alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism in resolving disputes between Taxpayers and KRA.
